2023 started with heavy rainfall
Recently there has been a significant amount of rainfall in the Lankóc forest near Gyékényes.
The water retention artefacts completed in 2020 are doing their job:
They are slowing down the flow of water from the area, therefore a significant amount of water can be found above the water retention artefacts, even days after the rains. Alder and tall sedge meadows in Lankóc forest are under water, as it's a a natural part of their lives. Hopefully the water will remain in the area for a long time and support the development of vegetation, nutrition and reproduction of water-bound animals and the reduction of non-native, invasive plant species.
