Artificial nests and bat boxes installed

Artificial nests and bat boxes provides breeding and sleeping places for black stork and various bat species.

A spectacular element of the project is the installation of artificial nests and bat boxes in Lankóc Forest. The three artificial nests provide a possibility of growth in the population of black storks, actually consisting of ten nesting pairs in the region.

Bat boxes are distributed in parts of Lankóc Forest suitable for bats but has insufficient number of natural lairs. Considering the needs of various bat species, 23 mail-box type, 22 rocket type and 6 Zörényi type bat boxes were installed over the forest. In order to identify them during monitoring studies, all boxes are numbered clearly.
