Presentation of the WiseDrava Life project in international forum

The objectives, results and experiences of the WiseDrava Life project were presented in an international conservational conference.

A conference focusing the challenges and opportunities of nature conservation and biodiversity research in the Western Balkans was organized on June 25 by BioaquaPro Ltd. and the Hungarian Natural History Museum, with the support of West Balkans Green Center Nonprofit Ltd. and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology with the title Challenges and opportunities for biodiversity research and conservation in the Western Balkans in the context of EU accession.

At the conference, the objectives, progress and difficulties of the WiseDrava Life project was presented. More information on the objectives, funding background, history and application and implementation opportunities of the LIFE programs (L'Instrument Financier pour l'Environnement) was also provided.

The conference discussed capacity building for the green transition in the Western Balkans, the taxonomic program in Europe, the aquatic insect fauna of the Balkans, and appropriate management of the forests in Natura 2000 sites. The conference ended with a roundtable discussion, in which participants discussed the possibilities and experiences of monitoring bryophyte species for conservation purposes.

Due to the diverse and rapidly changing epidemiological regulations in the countries of the participants, the conference was held online.
