Field visit with the participation of teachers and students of BME
On a study trip, the habitat restorations realized within the framework of the WiseDrava project and their engineering background for university teachers and students were presented.
During the two-day study trip, the intervention sites of the WiseDrava project in the Lankóci forest and along the Drava were visited. The 27 professors and students of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics participating in the field visit, first saw the water retention works implemented in the Lankóci Forest, their monitoring and the related nature conservation developments.
At Heresznye, the site of the newly completed side branch reconnection was visited, discussing the details and difficulties of the implementation. Among the converted river regulation works on the main branch of the Dráva, the groyne near Felsőszentmárton was visited, and we were also able to discuss its effects on site with colleagues experienced in various fields.
The experience gained during the course of the study trip will be put to good use during lectures and exercises held at the university, as well as during preparations for further education.
