Building of water retention artefacts completed
Water retention artefacts were built in Lankóc Forest to improve the water regime of the area and facilitating flood protection.
The water of Dombó brook maintained the biodiversity of riparian forests and herbaceous communities in Lankóc Forest. Aiming the quick and effective drainage, the brook was converted to a straight, long and even 3-5 meters deep canal.

In dry weather conditions with extremities, the importance of water and water retention comes into view to maintain natural habitats and cultivated lands. Allowing efficient flood control at the same time, 6 water retention artefacts were built along Dombó and its tributaries.

Causing the least disturbance, the implementation was scheduled to late autumn and affected as small areas as possible. The works were implemented in favourable weather conditions.
During the operation of artefacts, the changes in the water regime of the area will be monitored and necessary steps reconsidered.
