The first monitoring survey of installed bat boxes were completed by the rangers of Danube-Drava National Park in May 2020. One specimen of whiskered bat (Myotis mystacinus) moved in box 46 (Zörényi type) and one specimen of common pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus) in box 39 (rocket type). The whiskered bat is a rare forest species in Hungary while common pipistrelle in the region; both are protected in Hungary.

Traces of bats (guano) were found in 9 further boxes, nests of great tit in 25, its faeces or feathers in 20 boxes and nests of wasp in 8 boxes.

According to the experiences, bats usually colonizes bat boxes after the 3-4th year of their installation, consequently, a number of new occurrences is expected in the coming years.
