Press trip to the WiseDrava LIFE project sites
Representatives of several media organizations were invited to a joint site visit for 19 March, where the main habitat restorations realized within the framework of the project were presented.
The project closing provides a valuable opportunity to showcase the achieved results in the media, disseminate them widely, and lay the groundwork for future related activities. Despite the long distance and the meaningful yet exhaustive program, representatives from national and local media participated in the joint press trip.
At one of the project sites, the Lankóci forest, we showcased various interventions ranging from habitat restoration to the enhancement of forest diversity. These included water retaining structures, installed water gauges, cleaned groundwater wells, bat boxes, artificial nests, and information boards.
Following a long journey and refreshing forest air, we enjoyed a satisfying lunch, as usual, at the Szivárvány Restaurant in Berzence. After rejuvenating ourselves, the trip proceeded near Heresznye, where we presented the newly reconnected Dráva side branch and discussed the beneficial effects of the implementation.
Upon completion of the one-day tour, we distributed press materials and conducted interviews with additional press outlets that were unable to participate in the visit. It is anticipated that the results of the WiseDrava LIFE project will garner increased recognition through media coverage.
